| Waymarks?:Yes Location and map reference : On the Sierra del Penyo - walk starts near the Collado de la Garga about 3Km West of Benimaurell. 25000 Map 822-1 (Orba) 0-08-50; 46-10-30. It is part of PRV 181 and shown on the wooden noticeboard maps in villages in the Val de Laguart. Distance, approximate time and degree of difficulty: 7 Km , 4 hours (including lunch!) Easy walking on good footpaths and unsurfaced road. Note: Slight ascent from 676m (Font de la Mata) to 759 (Collado de la Garga) Main features of walk: Great views of the Val de Pop and Val de Laguart; two refreshing natural springs. |

How to get there by car: From Javea take the N332 and CV 732 to Pedreguer. From Pedreguer take the CV 733 to Benidoleig and Orba. On leaving Orba there is a bit of a dog-leg: Turn Left onto the CV715 signposted Callosa d'en Sarria (also signposted Centro Urba). After about 200m turn Right onto the CV718 signposted Val de Laguart & Fontilles. After climbing out of the valley this road joins the CV 721 which comes in from the right. Continue through Campell and Fleix to Benimaurell . In Benimaurell fork right through the village. Pass Restaurant/ bar Oasis on your right . The road immediately turns sharp left then at a T juntion go sharp right out of the village. Continue for about 3KM up the valley until you reach a stone Bar/Restaurant "Venta el Collao" at the brow of a pass. This pass/Col is the Collado de la Garga. Park here. Time: about 50 minutes.
