Route Name:The Alt de Ample - clockwise and counter-clockwise
Sketch Map

Waymarks?: Cairns
Location and map reference :Off the From Jalon/Bernia Road CV749 - Map 822-IV (1:25,000) Benissa
Distance, approximate time and degree of difficulty:
Including the peak and lunch , About 3.5 hours.
Difficulty : Moderate. The path is a fairly well maintained Mozarabic trail. If you go clockwise you climb the sunny side and go down the shady side and vice versa. The climb is physically more of a slog in the clockwise direction.
Main features of walk: A circular walk with a climb of some 300 metres. Spectacular views down into the Barranco de Cao and panoramic views from the top. There is a well-preserved "era" (circular area used for threshing wheat) not far from the summit, a nice place for lunch.

How to get there by car: From Jalon , take the Jalon/Bernia road CV-749 which leaves the old town heading south (Note: there is something of a maze of one-way streets in Jalon these days, so you may have to drive round in circles to find the road!) After 1.3 km park on the right hand side of the road just after the road widens with a central white line and swings into left/right S bend. There is a nice shady tree and a house opposite.
