0 San Geronimo Shooting range to
1 Signpost to Montgo

Cross the main road and turn right. After 20 metres turn left onto a broad forestry track. Ignore a turning to the right (leads to another shooting range) but step over a chain stretched across the gravelled track and continue on for a few minutes. You enter a copse of pine trees. Note a turning to the right signposted "Ruta de la Creueta de Xabia". Turn right here.

1 Signpost to 2 start of track

Follow this track until it forks 100m past a house on the left. Take the left turning. After another 100m or so you approach another house on the left. Look on the right for cairns marking a rough footpath, on a bend in the road almost opposite the house. Take this footpath

2 Start of track to to 3 the Eye
The path climbs steeply over rough terrain. It eventually runs parallel to a sloping escarpment heading southwards over the Montgo's "nose". Plant life includes Prickly Juniper, Dwarf Palm, Toothed Lavender and Sea Mallow.

The final ascent to the eye is on a steep rocky outcrop, and not recommended for those with a fear of heights. However the rock is abrasive affording good footing.

4. In the Eye
A broad flat ledge at the mouth of the cave affords an ideal place to rest. The rocks just inside the cave mouth are polished and slippery.
