Gynandriris sisyrinchium - Barbary Nut
Unlike true irises, the plant has a corm deep in the ground and each flower
opens for only half a day (Collins Photoguide to Wildflowers of the Mediterranean,
1990) Found on grassy pastures and sand. Flowers from March to May
