Ornithogalum narbonense (O.pyramidale) - Pyramidal Star of Bethlehem
Castellano: Ajo de lobo, varita de San José
A perennial with a long pyramidal many-flowered spike of rather small white flowers with petals with a narrow green band. Flowering stems standing above leaves up to 60cm high; leaves spreading, channelled, broadly linear and somewhat bluish-grey; remaining green during flowering. Flowers 20-50, arranged regularly round the stem with bracts 1-2 cm long, and much longer than the flower buds. Petals 10-12 mm long; flower stalks at first spreading and then pressed against the stem. (description from Polunin and Huxley - Flowers of the Mediterranean, 1981)
