Lavandula dentata - Toothed lavender (Mint
family)
Valenciano: Garlanda
Aromatic with grey-felted stems. Leaves are long and thin with the edges
rolled in. Grey-green above and grey-felted beneath. In the second photo
the leaves on the right are those of Lavandula dentata, those on the left
are of the cut-leaved lavendar, Lavandula
multifida.
(Collins Photoguide to Wild Flowers - Schonfelder 1990) The scent is not
as strong as the cultivated common lavender. Used as an antiseptic for
urinary problems. ( Plantas Silvestres de la Comunidad Valenciana - Stubing
& Peris - 1998) |
