A yellow flowered plant with pale foliage which gives off a very strong foetid smell. Stemms woody at the base up to 80 cm high. Leaves compund, twice cut into oblong elliptic wedge-shaped leaflets. Petals yellow, finged with long, conspicuous upstanding tooth-like hairs. Fruit globular with 4-5 sharp pointed lobes close together.

Uses: Abortifacient; Anthelmintic; Emmenagogue; Ophthalmic. The plant is abortifacient, anthelmintic, emmenagogue and ophthalmicA decoction of the plant has been used in the treatment of paralysis, coughs and stomach aches. The leaves have been heated then placed inside the ear to treat earache (See Plants for a future)
