Orchis fragrans (O. coriophora) - Bug Orchid
Flower spike 15-40cm tall, the inflorecence 5-10cm with 10-25 flowers. Plae
flowers from pink to yellow/green with a perfumr of vanilla or aniseed. The
sepals form an upwardly pointing beak . Considered a vulnerable species,
though locally abundant. Found in lowland areas. Rare and scarce in the Communidad
Valenciana, though there is some confusion as to whether O.coriophora (which
occurs to the north of the Marina Alta) and fragrans are
distinct species. Flowers from May to June.
