
Ophrys dianica (sub species of Ophrys fusca)
- Dull ophrys
Each flower is about 2 cm high; three green sepals above and
a large, brown lobed lip below.
This is an intermediate beween the Yellow bee orchid (Ophrys lutea) and the
Dull Ophrys (Ophrys fusca) i.e. it looks like a Dull ophrys with a yellow fringe
around the lip.. It is described as a distinct species in "Orchis Sylvestris
de la Comunidad Valenciana"; but the authors of the website "Orchideas
Ibericas" are more sceptical and suggest more study.
