So-called because of its spiral growth form. Green plant with rosette of 3-6
small leaves at the base. White flowers on a single stem. 5 - 20 cm tall. The

alongside this year's flowering stem. Widely distributed in Europe with the
main concentration in the South West. Found in meadows and pastures from sea
level up to 1200m. Pollinated by aphids (greenfly). Seen on la Plana above Montgo
and in the valley of Javea.
Flowers middle of September to middle of October.
