The Avenc Estret (narrow pothole) is much visited by cavers/espeleologists, and we chanced upon a team of three in April 2005.
The left photo shows two espeleologists getting ready to descend. There are permanently fixed anchor points in the rocks at the rim. The round chasm is about 12m across. The sheer drop is 121.8 metres, and the second longest in the Comunidad Valenciana. The dramatic picture on the right was kindly sent to us by this team of Spanish cavers. (forgot to take a note of their names, for which we apologise)

At the bottom there is a cone of rubble in a large chamber. From here it is possible to decend further to the final depth of 142 m
